2012 Call for Proposals

Call for Proposals

The Association of Small Computer Users in Education, ASCUE, is seeking proposals from faculty and staff for presentations at its 45th Annual Conference. The conference will be held at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from June 10-14th, 2012. Proposals should focus on issues in information technology that are of interest to small educational institutions. Proposals may be submitted for either a general or refereed track.

What can you do to be involved?

Session Presentations are 45 minutes, including time set aside for audience questions and engagement. They may be in traditional paper, panel or demonstration, format. We encourage innovative, interactive presentation formats. All papers will be printed in the conference proceedings.

Five Minutes of Fame Keynote is new this year! If you are submitting a proposal, consider applying to be a part of our new revolutionary keynote experience. A select number of presenters will be offered the opportunity to each give a 5-minute presentation highlighting an innovative practice at their institution. The audience will then vote for the most innovative practice. The winning presenter will receive both recognition and a special prize!

Panels are the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to be involved, but isn’t able to make the commitment of a 45 minute presentation. Panel members will be provided with a series of questions prior to the panel, but will also be asked questions by the audience. Panel chairs will also be needed. Chairs will be asked to formulate questions for the panel and to facilitate the discussion. Topics this year include:

  • Mobile Technologies
  • Social Media
  • Digital and Information Literacy

If you’d like to be one of the panel leaders, submit your proposal on how your experience can help facilitate the discussion.

Suggested Topics Include...
